23. If the software is desktop based - do you verify my software license via the internet when the software loads? If so, if there is an internet access issue at your office will I be able to access the software?
24. If cloud based - In the last 2 years how many minutes / hours has your service been down? Last 5 years?
25. When data is transmitted from your servers to my computers is it transferred at a 256-bit encryption level for security?
26. Is your company angle or venture capital funded? (During the last tech shut down the vast majority of tech companies were de-funded and as a result went out of business.)
27. Can this one system run my entire company?
28. Do you have a mobile version of your software or do I just log into the full version on a mobile device? Am I required to buy a specific brand of mobile device?
29. Can the system send email? When it does, how to you guarantee email delivery? Do I get back a receipt for each email telling me that it was delivered, bounced, marked as spam, etc?
30. Do you sync with Quick books? If so, how does it work? Is it a full two-way sync that happens automatically? Or do I have to export a file from your system and import it into QuickBooks? Does it sync everything or just payments and invoices and a few other pieces of info? Do I have to have the QuickBooks sync on every computer? Does it keep my client's account balances in perfect sync with QuickBooks at all times?
31. One of the most important questions of all!

Ask to see the system demonstrated with real data so you can be certain of the systems depth of ability for each major feature within the system. Personally using the system with fake data generally isn't good enough. It's better to ask for a demonstration so that you can ask the hard questions and be shown in detail exactly what it can and can't do.

Almost every company has a marketing website with an impressive list of functionality. Each touts what sounds like highly advanced features.  The problem is that unless the features go deep, unless they have been well designed and contain a lot of functionality they will sound good but when actually used will be too tedious, not powerful enough, and to time consuming to put to use. As a result they will not be used once the software has been purchased.

For example, image a system you are considering has asset or equipment tracking. What if it is so time consuming to enter the data into the system that no one within your company will actually use that feature?
